Christopher Robin at Neston Flicks

Updated: Jul 5, 2021

This month's Neston Flicks' film is a must see if you haven't already caught it at the cinema. Gary Oldman is unrecognisable as Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour and he deservedly won Best Actor at the 2018 Oscars.

During the early days of World War II, with the fall of France imminent, Britain faces its darkest hour as the threat of invasion looms. Darkest Hour is the dramatic and inspiring story of four weeks in 1940, during which Churchill's courage to lead changed the course of world history.

Kristin Scott Thomas, Lily James, Ben Mendelsohn support Oldman admirably in portraying Britain in its time of greatest need.

Come and enjoy the usual Flicks formula of food, cake, licenced bar and great atmosphere at Neston Civic Hall on Saturday 27th October. Doors open 6pm for the chance to enjoy a drink from the bar, Scouse from the Royal Oak (with veggie version) or a gorgeous slice of Elephant Coffee's cake.

WARNING: if you want scouse, buy a meal voucher in advance as it tends to sell out fast! You can buy your tickets and meal voucher here.
