Following a review of our provisions for older people we want to introduce you to our 'new look' Neston Angels service!
Please join us at our relaunch event from 1pm on Tuesday 18th March at NCYC. You can find out more about the service, meet the service coordinator, sign up for activities or sign up as a volunteer to support us.

Why have we made these changes?
We reviewed the service and made changes for a variety of reasons.
Historically we have relied on securing funding via grants to fund Neston Angels, this funding covers overheads for the service such as staff time, volunteer expenses, room hire to run activities, refreshments, marketing, IT etc. Grants are often for a maximum of 12 months which results in instability of the service as we cannot guarantee the service can continue until we secure the next lot of funding. This creates instability for staff, service users and the reputation of the service. Including paid for aspects of the service will help the service become self funding which ensures the longevity of the service. As a non profit it also means the more people who attend the activities means the more activities we can provide and therefore the more people we can support!
We also felt that some of the activities were becoming stagnant and we know there are more people in CH64 who would benefit from Neston Angels' befriending and social activities. We decided to review our current activities and add in additional ones as suggested by our current service users, we hope that there is something for everyone now! As always, we are open to suggestions and feedback to improve our services so please get in touch if you feel there is something else we could offer.
What is Neston Angels
Loneliness affects lots of people. Older people in particular can become more and more isolated as families move away and their mobility and confidence deteriorates.
Neston Angels aims to improve the wellbeing of older people in CH64 through its various support services and activities. We provide a variety of affordable activities bringing people together who live alone through regular social events and one to one support from our team of local volunteers.
From a weekly social visit from a befriender, to shopping support, to social groups there is something for everyone and they can make a huge difference to someone who spends much of their time alone.
